Company Profile:
Our client has been in business for 10 years, focusing both on government contracts and commercial applications within the Aerospace sector. They doubled in revenue this year and are looking to transition from a founder-led sales model and bring on their first Director of Business Development to lead and expand their sales operation.
Job Description:
- The Director of Business Development will report to the CEO and must be comfortable working as a player-coach, first focusing on sales and business development, creating GTM strategy and processes and then scaling a team.
- The Director of Business Development will be presenting with clients in person, consulting on their needs and organizing resources internally to ensure needs are met and the right solution is provided.
- The Director of Business Development will be supported with technical resources as needed, but must be comfortable having conversations with Engineers, Designers, Buyers and Government Subcontractors
Requirements:
- 10+ years of sales experience within the Aerospace industry, ideally selling a manufacturing or engineering solution
- 3+ years of leadership as a sales manager or team lead with the ability to implement and track KPI metrics and sales forecasting data
- Ideal candidates will have previous knowledge of the government contracting and proposal process
Location: This is a remote role where candidates can be located anywhere in the Eastern Time Zone, with the ability to meet on-site and with clients in the Washington, DC Metro Area 30-40% of the time.
